Actively experience the Ultental Valley
Nordic walking & jogging
Nordic walking and jogging are the trend sports of the past year - and for a reason. They combine sport with nature and pleasure. The unspoiled Ultental Valley offers extensive routes and paths.
Nordic walking… on the go with two poles
By using the walking poles you burn more calories during Nordic walking than during normal hiking. You improve your condition and agility and thereby preserve your joints. Hence: take the poles and off you go! Your body, spirit and soul will be grateful!
- St. Nikolaus, 10.5 km (difficult)
Start of this somewhat longer and more demanding tour is the village centre of St. Nikolaus/S. Nicolò. From here you walk along the renowned farm path to St. Gertraud/San Gertrude and back along the other side of the valley. The tour leads mainly along forest paths and has a total gradient of 419 metres. Shortcut (6.9 km - medium) possible.
- St. Walburg, 4.5 km (easy)
The starting point of the Nordic Walking Park in St. Walburg/S. Valburga is located at Zoggler/Zoccolo Lake and leads along the lake to Kuppelwies/Pracupola to the starting point of the technical round (for learning a solid Nordic walking technique in 7 steps), and the St. Nikolaus/S. Nicolò round tour. The majority of the path leads along forest gravel paths with a gradient of only 79 metres.
- Kuppelwies, 8 km (medium)
Start and end of the tour is the car park (start of the Farms' Path) in Kuppelwies/Pracupola. Very beautiful tour with a view of the valley leading along the traditional and idyllic farms of the Ultental Valley to St. Nikolaus/S. Nicolò. Return path on the same side of the valley; gradient of 251 metres.
- St. Moritz, 10.5 km (difficult)
The alpine round tour with a wonderful panoramic view in the Nordic Walking Park starts above the "Moritz-Höhe" at the Grubberg and leads via the Außerschwemmalm and Innerschwemmalm to the refreshing Messner River (bare-foot walking and Kneipp treatment) and back to the starting point. Mostly forest grounds and a total incline of 454 metres. Shortcut (7.9 km - medium) possible.

Jogging... on quiet soles
Start your very personal fitness programme! Right outside the hotel an ideal jogging route leads along Falschauer River to St. Walburg. Afterwards you can enjoy a hands and feet Kneipp cure in the cold water of the river. This stimulates the circulation and strengthens the circulatory system.
